The Plan

We're not building one bench and walking away.

Each round is designed to be repeatable: listen first, fund materials directly, install by hand, and hand the space over to the village.

  1. Phase 1

    Listen

Interview Gwanjeong 3-ri's elders to understand their needs, and scout the village to find the location that makes the most sense for daily use.

  2. Phase 2

    Build

Small-scale fundraising — mainly an online form shared within the school community — funding materials directly: wooden pyeongsang platforms, shade umbrellas, wood stain, and a named memorial plaque. Volunteers clear the site and install everything by hand.

  3. Phase 3

    Connect

A small gathering for the village — refreshments and a short performance from the school choir — to mark the space as theirs from day one.

Budget breakdown

Funds go to materials, not overhead. Labour is volunteered by students, and each round is costed at roughly 1,000,000 KRW.

Round one is a start, not the whole plan. We're already scouting the next site in the village for a second platform.
